I really like Cicero's work, first and foremost because of the feeling they convey. Most of them are very isolating while also being very cozy at the same time. Looking at a picture like Lost or The Escape gives me the same kind of chills that I get when I'm in a house during a thunderstorm, like there is something ominous going on outside of my own safe shell. Stylistically I also really appreciate what she does. Obviously she paints abstractly (abstractedly?) but doesn't go too far to where the viewer doesn't know what is happening. In some of her paintings she uses strikingly contrasting colors, most evidently in Engine 611, whereas in others she uses a more bleak wash like in Truro Nights which is a better way to get her message across in that particular picture.
